The Yasashii Tamagotchi (aka Easy Tamagotchi) was released in Japan in September 1998. It was never released internationally. This is the rarest and most expensive vintage Bandai Tamagotchi, and the most sought after. It is considered a collecting milestone much like the Devilgotchis. It was originally released to attract older Tamagotchi players by being easy to play and understand. Instead of cycling through on-screen menu icons, the unit features large, light-up buttons to show what the tama needs. This was to make it easier for those with poorer eyesight like the elderly. It was released in three shell colors, and sells for a very high price.

You will be shown a piece of cake or a shaved ice in the upper left hand treasure chest. You must choose which of the other three chests on the screen you think the cake or ice is in. It is completely by chance. There is no trick to it. The other three corner buttons represent each chest on the screen, so the Care button is the upper right-hand chest, the Toilet button is the bottom left-hand chest, and the Status button is the bottom right-hand chest. You will need to guess correctly at least 3 out of 5 times to win.

Mute Sound
The Yasashii has a switch on its side that allows you to mute, or choose between two sound levels. Max volume is LOUD.

Tips and Tricks

  • Some Yasashiis have a fault in their volume switch. Muting the sound will reset the device. Not all Yasashiis have this issue, but it is something to be aware of to test before you begin playing. Since the buttons flash, most players just leave their Yasashii muted.
