    Startup
When you startup your Akai, you will need to set the time. Use the A button to set the correct number for the month, then press the B button to confirm. Repeat this for the day, hour, and minute. The next screen will ask you for your birthday. After this, you will be taken to the character screen where there is a bouncing egg. Wait 1 minute for it to hatch. Once it has hatched, it will tell you the gender of your tama, then you can enter a name. You must use hiragana for a name.

    Status
This icon will show you the current state of your Tamagotchi.

    Hunger
This meter shows how hungry your tama is. Feed it food to fill the hearts.

    Happy
This meter shows how happy your tama is. Play games or feed treats to fill the hearts.

    Discipline
This bar shows how disciplined your tama is. Praising and scolding your tama at the appropriate times will fill this bar in over time.

    Money
This shows how many gotchi points your tama has. You can earn more by playing games. You can use the gotchi points to buy things from the vendor that will come three times per day, or when you put in a password for an item.

    Age
This is how old your tama is.

    Weight
This is how much your tama weighs.

    Name
This shows the name you gave your tama at startup or hatching.

    Gender
This is the gender of your tama.

    Generation
This is what generation number your tama is. If your tama dies, then this number starts back at 1.

    Food
Use this icon to feed your pet. Each meal will fill one hungry heart. Each treat will fill one happy heart. Don't feed too many treats, or your pet may become sick.

    Toilet
When your Tamagotchi poops, clean it up with this icon.

    Games
You can fill happy hearts, and help your pet lose weight by playing games. This is also how to earn gotchi points.

    Throw Away
The throw away game will drop gotchi gold and poops. You have a trash can to collect poops, so you want to avoid the money. No throwing money away! Move the trash can left and right to collect only the poo using the A and B buttons. You win the game by collecting 100 poops. Little poops are worth 1. Big poops are worth 2.

    Postal
In the postal game, you need to bump the letter, and make it into the mailbox. Timing is the key to this game. It is best to hit the letter just as it fully appears on the screen. Press the B button to make your tama jump up and head-butt the envelope. Get 30 letters in a row in the box to win.

    Swimming Race
When starting the swim game, you must select which place your tama will take in the race. If you think you will take 3rd place, then select third place. If you plan to win, select first place. Press the A button to select a placing, then use the B button to confirm. Once the race starts, alternate between pressing the A and B buttons quickly to race the other contestants.

    Connection
The connection menu allows your tama to connect with other tamas as well as enter passwords for items.

    Tamagotchi Keitai

    Discipline
Use this option when your tama calls for praise or scolding.

    Praise
When you see your Tamagotchi crying or keeping its back to you, use this option to praise it. This will add a notch to the discipline bar.

    Scolding
When you see your Tamagotchi yelling, or if it calls out without needing anything, use this option to scold it. This will add a notch to the discipline bar.

Every time you connect your tama to another Tamagotchi, it will save the other character in the friends section.

    Treasure
The treasure section holds all of the items that you have purchased from the vendor or through passwords that are not food.

    Pocket Money
Use this option to donate some of your gotchi points to the Gotchi King. Once 1000 points is donated, you will get a reward.

    Memories
Memories functions as a sort of family album. The grave option shows the Tamagotchis that have died, while the family option shows the previous successful generations.

    Mating
Your Akai can mate with other Akais, and create a new generation of tamas. There are two ways of marrying and mating. You can connect your Akai to another Akai (opposite genders), and have them get to know each other until they marry. You can also wait for the matchmaker to arrive. The matchmaker will begin to show up 72 hours after your Akai matures into an adult. She will appear everyday afterward at 11:30AM, 3:00PM, and 7:00PM. She will bring a mate, and you will have the option of selecting yes or no.

Note: The matchmaker will not mate two seniors. You must have two Keitais to do this.

    Mute
To mute the sound, press the A and C buttons simultaneously while on the character screen.

    Set Clock
To set the clock, press B on the character screen. Then press the A and C buttons simultaneously on the clock screen. Use the A button to change the values of the date and time. Press B to confirm.
